About

Mina Kamante has studied extensively from life in ateliers in Florence and Paris, and at the New York Academy of Art. She draws on her experiences as someone of mixed ethnicity and nationality who has travelled widely; exploring identity as well as questioning societal beliefs and ideologies and the things that make us belong or call a place home. Her paintings and drawings are organically grown through observation, imagination and experimentation with the physicality of materials, colour and light.

Mina's work is held in the James Wallace Arts Trust in New Zealand, and in private collections internationally.
